I dont see why it shouldnt let you...? as long as you have a conection you should be able to down laod it? it shouldnt really make a diff what connection your on

Yeah i would think so...have your rents got a router? or are you just connecting it straight to the wall connection

its like a modem has a cable from the phone socket to the modem and a ethernet cable to the modem and the computer

then the cable that links to the computer...should just link straight to your laptop...

Check out your parent's network settings (Wintendo XP: Double-click on the Connection icon to the bottom-right, choose properties, scroll down to Internet Protocol(TCP/IP) and choose it, click Properties, Make sure to see if it gets both IP-address and DNS-serveraddress automatically. Linux: ifconfig eth0)


Use the same settings on your computer (Linux: ifconfig eth0 dhcp up OR ifconfig eth0 IP-ADDRESS up)
Sometimes you need to put DNS-serveraddresses in /etc/resolv.conf aswell.
