Hey guys, this topic is for ideas on the running of the guild. please feel free to post any new ideas/comments u may have on how things are going - all comments welcome but keep them constructive! Below are a number of things that i would like ideas on (to get you started)
1. Guild bank and the running of
2. Addons
3. what type of guild we are, i.e raid, social, leveling?
4. members and recruiting - i.e we need to recruit more of...?
5. Events - we could have leveling nights, where we all go to a certain place and clear all the quests with the lower lvl guys
6. Social events - guild meetings in the Under city, fun raids on instances etc
all input is welcome - have fun!

Addons
a fantastic addon for quick leveling is called "Quest helper" and can be found at www.curse.com if you dont know how to use addons there is a guide on the web site and its real easy to do
This addon tells you where to go and in which order to get the most out of your time by putting icons on ur world map and little marching ants indicating which way to go - very handing!

Addons: I use a various set of programs called ArcHUD, Cartographer, Atlas(loot) and a couple others, but the main issue with addons has always been "updating". every time wow releases a patch, your addon's will become out of date. There is, however, a very useful program that can not only manage your addon updates, but if you want to you can search for new addons, and it'll automatically install them for you.
Ladies and gentlemen, i give you UI Central.

That's interesting Traesen... Do you happen to know which program is that? That would be quite helpful for everyone that has addons.

Onyxia's Lair attunment
Guys It's time to get down to buisness, now that we are growing quite well and becoming more tight-knit i think we should go for our first propper raid and what better than the Big ass dragon queen herself - Onyxia! so to start us off starting wed the 13th of feb, myself and others will start doing the attunment, if you interested plz let me know on line and be sure to check out this link for info on the quest line http://www.wowhead.com/?item=16309#comments.

Re: LOD ideas for the future!
In response to the idea of doing instances/raids together, i think that is a great idea. Tonight when i did the Onyxia prequest start i had a great time, if it wasn't for that i probably wouldn't have started talking to some of you. its a great way of getting to know each other and brings one closer to the guild imo. so im all up for guild instances/meetings and such.
in all honesty i think there should be more chat in the guild chat. whenever i come on its practically dead. traesen and i had a natter on it once and managed to get some ppl to join in but it didn't last long. Ppl talk in guild! tell us about your day, rant if you must, i for one will listen and join in
that is all for now hehe

Re: LOD ideas for the future!
Hmm I got this really good idea. How about we set up duelling competitions and perhaps reward the winner wit a small prize?Heh it would be really fun if we could have a duelling tournament. The duelling should be in several level segements, e.g. one lvl 20 to 30 then another lvl 31 to 40, etc so a low level wouldnt end up challenging a high level.

Guild Funds
Hi, everyone. I finally got round to registering in the forum at last!
A quick query regarding our guild bank, how exactly can we use our guild funds?
When I last looked we had several hundred gold in there and I’m wondering how were can put this to good use for the entire guild.
I have seen people in guild chat asking for loans which have then been quickly refused. I agree that loans aren’t really the way to go as they may not be repaid and people could just leave the guild and run off with our gold.
There is an option to use guild funds for our weapon and armour repairs but I don’t think this is enabled in our guild at the present time.
One idea is that we could have a bonus system for members; an amount of gold could be given to individuals when they gain a new rank within in the guild (e.g. a bonus for becoming a Doom Bringer at lvl 60 and a Chaos Warrior at 70) of course this should not apply if the individual had only just joined.
Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Re: LOD ideas for the future!
In one of the previous guilds i was in they did a lottery. Im not sure on blizzard rules for this, is may be a grey area, but....
Everybody who wanted to participate would mail 2 gold and their chosen number (1 to 100) to a nominated member of the guild e.g. LODLotto or something like that. 1 gold would go to the lotto fund 1 gold would go to the guild bank. The nominated member would then group up with at least 2 officers and do a /roll. This would then provide the winning number for that lucky someone and they would get a load of gold!!!
Proabably not explained that well but u get the general idea.

Guild meets
I remember a long time ago on a server far far away...
I used to be a member of a Dwarf guild that actually became from that point forward the ideal for any guild I've joined since. One of the things that impressed me the most were the guild meetings. Once a fortnight the entire guild, or as many as could attend due to real world constraints, would arrive and stand in rank and file in Ironforge according to whether clothy, leather or clanky. In guild tabards. Then the guild leader would chat for a while occasionally passing the buck to officers, people would be praised for whatever they had achieved on behalf of the guild, promotions would be announced and whatever other guild issues needed adressing would be. At the end everybody in the ranks would set himself to "follow" the person to his right all the way down to the officer at the end who would then lead these very long ranks of members through Ironforge and out of the gates the long way round impressing the hell out of anyone who's around at the time. This invariably led to HUGE amounts of people asking to join up. We ended up charging people according to their level to join up, and people paid ( one silver per level up to 20, 10 gold fixed up to 45, one gold per level after that ). Once out of the gates we went to an iced lake down the slope and to the left, set a few hunters to guard for beasties and hordies and initiated training. I.e everybody had to duell in their rank ( 1 - 10, 11 - 20 etc. ) and the winners received cash prizes. Everybody then saluted the guild leader, waited to be dismissed and then split. FUCKIN' AWESOME!
Ahem...wow, my first post and I'm telling you all about another guild I was in and how great it was. Sorry about that *shuffles feet* but hope you might see something in all that which may be usefull. Displaying a whole load of guildies in one place in an organized manner IS impressive, and only by impressing people do we really get people to join up rapidly and en mass. People see notices saying "We're a friendly load of 6 year old girraffe masturbators out for a good time and desperatly need members PLEEEAASE..." all the time. When approached by an army complete with recruitment officers it's a different matter entirely. THIS IS MY FIRST ENTRY, I'M ON THE FORUM, HOW IS EVERYONE?

Re: LOD ideas for the future!
wow, what a great idea,! Being a military man myself in real life i like the cut of your jib organisation is vital in the smooth running of any organisation, hence the reason for the recent spat of Onxyia atunment runs. Through these "low level" raids i feel we will gain the nesecary skills and discipline needed to form a well functioning war machine - top job Anti
Re: LOD ideas for the future!
Yep anti's got the exact idea I think everything said there is absolutely right. We should run our guild on those lines. Doing low level raids is only part of the way whereas anti has also proposed regular guild meetings which as pointed out would seriously impress everyone and make this guild actually become active. In addition I really think we should have duelling tournaments as posted above please write up some feedback on this cos I think its a brilliant idea and really builds up a great guild spirit making it unique.
