Curator tactics
Guys, I've been looking at many many Curator guides, and it seems a simple easy-to-follow strategy is one that would suit us. Ideally we should have a shadow priest, but my gear doesn't cut it as DPS, and we don't have another priest, do we?
Anyway, forget about the complicated positionning strategies and offtanking ideas, we just need to huddle together and nuke the adds ASAP. As long as we are huddled together then the adds will come straight to us, which eliminates the problem os mellee DPS having to chase them.
Adds need to be killed in under 10 seconds
Here is a response from someone in a similar position as us:
" This is how we've done it since out first kill, we tried a variety of placement strategies and none of them worked even close to as well as this.
Positioning: Everyone stands on top of one another about 10 yards from the tank. Everyone. Flare spawns and ranged DPS start to nuke it, as soon as it's in range melee DPS go nuts. The flare dies so much faster that raid damage is actually lower than if you spread out, melee don't lose DPS chasing behind flares that are moving, it's all so much less complicated. Only SP/lock DoTs on the curator at this point. Exception: If the flare is aggroed on someone else hunters can step back a few yards to get enough range.
Hateful bolts: Sod em, if someone gets low on health you heal them no matter where the damage came from so just forget about hateful bolts as something special to worry about.
Evocation: Everyone goes nuts on the Curator, once evocation ends clear up the flares and back to your original position.
Simple, effective, difficult to screw up. It removes all the complications, it becomes "Stand here and hit glowy things, now stand there and hit the big thing"."

..but isnt the whole idea of spreading out, to prevent the flares chain attacks which = mucho damage?

Yes you're right... but, this works better for disciplined guilds that REALLY REALLY know what they're doing and practice. We would be fooling ourselves to think we can all spread out and take down the adds speedily and efficiently.
I assume we will use 3 healers, and this makes the potential extra damage from grouping less of a problem. Besides, grouping allows for faster nuking, ergo less damage.
Limiting damage to the raid is a secondary objective in this fight. Fast DPS on the adds is paramount, and will actually accomplish the secondary objective unintentionally.
I propose we try this tactic, and abandon it if it fails. Its a foolproof tactic.
Misc tactics:
Yay for shadow priests. Spriest should ignore the rest of the raid tactics and just non-stop dps Curator (and be in the healer group)
Pets also on curator for the entire fight.
No blessing of salvation needed. Mana buffs instead.
DPS trinkets should be activated at Curator's regen stage.
Warlock should keep an eye on the boss tactic addon, and cast his doom spell 1 minute before the Curator starts regenerating.

Yeah, the only thing that can hold us back is our gear. This boss is very much a gear check, which to be honest I don't think we meet.

Er, no
My picture depicts the inspiration for making a horde female character: Madam Mim, from Sword In The Stone
Besides, what if I were actually gay?
